BASES
Form the foundation of the product, providing structure and consistency.
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
- Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil
- Cetearyl Alcohol
- Paraffin: Paraffin itself is not banned in the EU. Mineral Oil-Based Paraffins (MOAH – Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons) are restricted if they contain harmful contaminants. Only highly refined, purified paraffin can be used in cosmetics.
Unrefined or impure paraffin with MOAH impurities is prohibited due to carcinogenic concerns. - Polyethylene: While polyethylene itself is generally considered inert, certain chemicals associated with plastics have been identified as EDCs, potentially impairing fertility. These substances can interfere with hormonal functions, leading to reproductive health issues.
- Ozokerite: Ozokerite is considered weakly carcinogenic in the liver of male F344 rats.
- Lanolin: A natural emollient derived from sheep's wool, lanolin is effective in moisturizing. Some individuals may experience allergic reactions or skin sensitivities. Additionally, limited information suggests that lanolin-related materials may have comedogenic effects, potentially clogging pores.
- Synthetic Mica: As per FDA Approved
